Flash Blackjack

Flash BlackjackIf you want to play blackjack, but you're not interested in downloading a casino software client, then a flash blackjack game is just what the doctor ordered. Flash blackjack games are available at all of the casino partners listed on this site, and most of them are available in both play for free and play for real money modes. We've included some blackjack tips and strategies on this page in order to help you have a more profitable experience while playing.

Something that blackjack players love, or at least the good ones do, is that their level of skill actually has an effect on the house edge. A novice player is probably giving the casino a 2% to 3% edge, which means for every $100 he puts into action, he'll lose an average of $2 or $3. A player who plays excellent basic strategy is giving the casino a 0.5% edge, which means he's only losing 50 cents for every $100 put into action.

That's a big difference based on skill level. And a good player who can count cards will be able to give himself an advantage over the house, although that won't matter when playing the flash blackjack games at the casinos presented on this site. The RNG's (random number generators) used in the casino software shuffles the deck every hand, so counting becomes irrelevant in online black jack games.

Variations in the rules and conditions of the blackjack game you're playing have an effect on your expectation too. The following rules variations are positive for the player and will increase your win rate by the amount indicated in the following chart.

Rule Variation Effect on Win Rate
Natural blackjack pays 2 to 1 +2.3%
Early surrender +0.7%
Double down on any # of cards +0.24%
Double down after splitting pairs +0.14%

Other variations in the rules and conditions have a negative effect on your win rate. Here's a chart describing some of those conditions.

Rule Variation Effect on Win Rate
6 or 8 decks -0.56%
4 decks -0.48%
2 decks -0.3%
Dealer hits soft 17 -0.2%
No doubling down on 9 -0.13%
No doubling down on soft hands -0.13%

Finally, a general rule of thumb if you don't know basic strategy is that you should always assume that the dealer has a 10 in the hole and play accordingly. If the dealer's upcard is a 2 through a 6, he's a lot more likely to bust, so you should stop taking hits once you're up to about 13 or so. But if the dealer has a 7 or higher showing, you should probably keep taking hits until you're up to 17 or better.
